Kimber was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her mother was a 1st and 2nd grade teacher at the independent day school where Kimber attended and she feel in love with the school environment at an early age. After graduating from Baylor University and completing her masters degree at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, she accepted the position of Housemother at St. Thomas Choirschool in New York City. During her time in Manhattan, she met and married her husband, Matthew, who taught math at St. Thomas Choirschool. In 2000, Matthew and Kimber moved to Woodberry Forest School where Matthew accepted his current teaching position in the math department and Kimber served as the registrar.
Kimber and Matthew have three daughters. She and her husband chose Grymes for their girls because of the outstanding education and the spirit of care and concern that they sensed when they visited as prospective parents. As the receptionist, Kimber strives to provide accurate and timely information related to school events and activities while extending the warmth and care that led her to choose Grymes for her family. Prior to accepting the position as receptionist, Kimber assisted in the development office in 2010-11 and is an active volunteer in the Grymes Parent Teacher Association.
When she is not at work, Kimber is usually driving her children to dance or gymnastics lessons. Her family loves to ride bikes together and, on school vacations, travel to visit family in Arkansas and Connecticut . Kimber loves a great book and she loves to cook.
