Julie Sherman

Academic Support and Enrichment

Julie is a native of the Shenandoah Valley where her family has lived for eight generations. She comes from a long line of teachers and began her career in 1986 teaching ...... She graduated from Mary Washington College with a degree in Biology and Education and is certified in sixth through eighth grade general science and third through sixth grade elementary education. For the 1988-89 school year, Julie traveled to the International School of Aruba where she taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade math, science and biology. After Aruba she settled in Orange where she lives with her husband, Ben and her two daughters, Grace and Sarah who are both Grymes students.

Julie feels her position as Academic Support and Enrichment program director allows her to combine all of her teaching experience with her passion for education. She enjoys Grymes' atmosphere of small classes, encouraging teachers, and an enriching curriculum. Julie enjoys playing the drums, juggling, walking, and traveling with her family.
