Jill Solek-Giles fell in love with technology at the tender age of 7 and hasn't stopped clicking since. Initially a pre-med student, it was not until her college roommates pointed out her ability to resolve problems with the printers in the dorm computer lab that she finally realized the direction she wanted to take in life.
Jill is a graduate of the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce, with a dual concentration in Management Information Systems and Marketing. She has over 15 years of web development experience and 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer with Verizon Communications. She has worked in all phases of the systems development life cycle.
After leaving Verizon in 2004, Jill shifted her career path towards Educational Technology. She holds a State of Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in K-8 Computer Technology and has worked in the Orange County Public Schools as a Technical Support Specialist, Technology Teacher and an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher. She has been judging the SIIA CODiE Awards annually since 2005 and has been featured in eSchoolNews discussing her role in the co-creation of a successful incentive-based teacher technology training program.
Jill is thrilled to be a part of the Grymes family and welcomes your questions and comments about all things technology!
