Junior Kindergarten Assistant
Annie, affectionately known as “Miss Annie” by her students, grew up in neighboring Culpeper County and attended Culpeper County High School. Annie attended Madison College which is now James Madison University, and Radford State Teachers College, which is now Radford University. Annie was the manager of the Woodberry Forest School student store for 10 years and developed a love for the school and its students. She began her employment at Grymes in the library. In a former job, at a day care center, she enjoyed the preschool aged children, so assisting in the junior kindergarten at Grymes seemed to be a natural fit for Annie.
She believes that children should enjoy learning and that creativity should be encouraged. Annie finds Grymes a special place because she sees a “lot of love” for the children here and a genuinely caring environment. For this reason, she chose Grymes as the school for her daughter, Megan, who attended Grymes from kindergarten through eighth grade. Annie enjoys crafts, yoga, and walking in her spare time.
