Volunteering in school activity is a wonderful way to play an active role in your child’s experience at Grymes. Whether it’s becoming a classroom parent, participating in the Fall Family Picnic or sharing your voice in GPTA meetings, your participation makes a difference!Jennifer Hulsey, GPTA President
As a parent/guardian of a Grymes student, you are already a member of the Grymes Parent Teacher Association (GPTA) and we want to encourage you to consider having an active role this year. We value your input and appreciate your volunteerism in whatever capacity you can provide!
At Grymes, parents are welcome to have an active role in the school community. The GPTA is a lively and active organization that makes a difference in the life of the school daily. We value your input and appreciate your participation in any capacity!
Throughout our successful fundraising efforts last year, the GPTA provided our teachers with a number of wonderful items to enhance the learning environment for our children. Among the items we purchased were ten pairs of binoculars for the science lab, classroom cameras for kindergarten and First Grade, a new set of encyclopedias for the library, and 15 scientific calculators. We were also able to contribute extra funds to make the seventh grade trip to the Chesapeake Bay possible.
In addition to our fundraising activities, we hope you’ll enjoy participating in other Grymes traditions supported by the GPTA, including the Fall Family Picnic on August 30th. We also encourage you to attend our monthly meetings at 8:30 am on the first Tuesday of each month in Gardner Hall.
